Authorities have identified a man struck and killed by a train in Asbury Park.

James Kessock, 34, Barnegat, was hit about 9:55 p.m. Sunday, according to Jim Smith, a New Jersey Transit spokesman

Kessock was struck along the North Jersey Coast Line tracks near First Avenue around 9:55 p.m., Smith said.

North Jersey Coast Line rail service was suspended in both directions between Long Branch and Bay Head.

New Jersey Transit police investigated.
